Then . . .

 . . . and now!

Billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music", it was held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near White Lake in Bethel, New York, 43 miles (70 km) southwest of Woodstock.

Over the sometimes rainy weekend, 32 acts performed outdoors. It is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history, as well as the definitive nexus for the larger counterculture generation.

Billed as "An Octogenarian Exposition: almost 1 Day of Peace & Music", it will be held at Lynne & Ian’s 4-acre home near Sherwood Park in Strathcona County – a few km. east of Edmonton, Alberta.  Over the dry and sunny afternoon, a motley collection of ukulele players will perform Woodstuke music (actually some original Woodstock songs) outdoors. It will be widely regarded as a very ordinary moment in ukulele circle history, as well as the definitive nexus for something or other.

“Woodstock” 1969 -vs- “Woodstuke” 2019

Then . . .

 . . . and now!

1969  —  2019  =  50 years!  So what happened?

Progress?  Positive change?  Evolution?  Care of our world?

Control on excess?   Growth in our sense of humility and humanity?

Not so much!  Ouch!

We have sent all the lyrics and ukulele song arrangements to those of you that have registered for Woodstuke and closer to the date will be sending you the final event details and the location of and directions to our acreage.  We are SO looking forwards to meeting you all!

We have discussed  Woodstuke with the RCMP as there will be an impact on the subdivision with car parking.  The RCMP are pleased to know that registration is required for this event and that “drop-ins” will not be admitted.  County by-laws require us to limit attendance to his type of event to a maximum of 300 people.(!)   While we do not expect to have anywhere near that number (we now have over 80 of you good folks registered so far),  we do need to ensure that everyone knows that attendance at this event will be by registration only other than our neighbours!

Please  -  you must register to join us at Woodstuke by midnight on Friday, August 16th 2019.

Woodstock 50 in the USA is now cancelled  -  So sad.

But Woodstuke in Strathcona County, Alberta is a “GO”!!
